This Town in the Klein Karoo is an absolute pleasure and you couldn’t have picked a lovelier place to visit. Further more our compliments on choosing the Plum Tree B&B for your accommodation. Approximately two hours scenic drive from Cape Town , Montagu is known as the gateway to the Klein Karoo. It is also considered the gem of the Route 62 with its charming character filled streets and historic buildings. Surrounded by majestic mountains with endless hiking trails, tractor trips and climbing routes for the more adventurous. The world-renowned natural hot mineral springs and abundant wine cellars makes Montagu a most deserving destination of choice. Our visitors leave this town refreshed, happy and glad to have visited this beautiful area.

The Plum Tree Bed and Breakfast is situated on the Historic Long Street. Three comfortably furnished rooms await you. The Japanese plum tree with is beautiful blossoms has been the inspiration for our first room and we call this large front room the Japanese Room. The Indian room follows. The third room is our African Room with a garden patio to enjoy. We strive for a relaxed, safe and peaceful environment for you to enjoy. Breakfast served a 7 – 9 each morning will tantalize your taste buds to such unique items such as “The Long Street Special” or “ The Overberg Delight”. A farm store called “The Orchard” or “Die Boord” just across the road offers a variety of hearty South African dishes for lunch and also offers a shop filled with unique items. Montagu has a variety of restaurants offering cuisines ranging from Chinese to good old Fish and chips, not to mention the finer eateries. There is so much to see and do and we look forward to welcoming you into our world.
